The WELL Building Standard
The WELL Building Standard is a pioneering benchmark rating system that focuses exclusively on the impacts of the buildings we inhabit. We spend an incredible 90% of our time indoors so it’s no surprise that our minds and bodies are impacted by the buildings where we live and work. So, it’s with great pride that we’re delighted to announce that Lisa McLeod, Head of Design at AW, is now WELL Certified. Lisa joins an exclusive group of WELL Accredited Professionals (WELL AP™) with demonstrated expertise and extensive knowledge of human health and wellness in the built environment. It's a skill set that will bring tremendous value to all our clients.
The WELL Building Standard is a performance-based certification system that marries best practices in design and construction with evidence-based scientific research. It's been created through seven years of rigorous research and development, working with leading physicians, scientists, and industry professionals. Projects earn the distinction based on seven categories of building performance — Air, Water, Light, Nourishment, Fitness, Comfort, and Mind - and achieve either Silver, Gold, or Platinum level rating.
