Digital Catapult’s new office in King’s Cross required out of hours refurbishment, with all designs needing to be sympathetic with the original building style and layout. Not an easy task, but this tech incubator for start-ups was heavily influenced by biophilia; from the generous amount of wooden flooring, to the floor to ceiling windows; to the rich green sofas and accompanying lush foliage dotted throughout the office. This softly counterbalanced the high-tech nature of the company and its product offerings.
Key features include redesigning the reception and waiting area, hot desking spaces and creation of a new multipurpose Immersive Lab. The Lab was installed with fully operable walls so that it could be packed away and quickly set up as an event space.
