In April 2019 Lisa McLeod, AW senior design and workplace strategist, started the design and planning phase of The Communications Store’s relocation from a Kensington office spanning 3 floors, to a single floor workspace in the Westworks, White City – working closely with Julietta Dexter, Founder, and Daniel Marks, Chief Creative Officer, to realise their dream of a home for their 140+ strong London head office team. On the date of delivery Julietta & Daniel opened TCS’s new door, and the impact of their new environment is already being very positively felt.
“Moving is always challenging and exciting at the same time. The impact our new offices have already had, are enormous. We work for our clients, and the closer and the more collaborative our teams are, the better for our clients. Lisa and the team’s careful thinking have delivered us exactly what we were looking for. She understood us straight away. We don’t believe that a fancy office makes us good at our job. But we do believe that a warm, inviting, relaxed office environment really makes a difference to people’s working lives and that is exactly what has been delivered.”
Before the building work started in full and hard hats were in force, Julietta and AW’s Marti (also a trained yoga teacher), made sure that a full team yoga class was held in the new offices, a simple blessing of the space that Julietta has always arranged in 5 TCS office moves in its nearly 25 year history both in London and New York.
