TV production company Hat Trick (Father Ted, Dinner Date and, of course, Have I Got News For You), moved to Camden Town back in 2008 and have been developing the offices ever since.
Action Workspace have been working with Hat Trick’s operations team on space optimisation studies and workplace analysis to maximise their offices and enable company growth.
The main challenge with the space was a large meeting suite, flanked by long diagonal corridors, which made access to the main office difficult. So when Hat Trick reached the decision to refurbish, the main thrust of the brief was to improve layout and accessibility.
Action Workspace lead designer, Lisa Humphreys, was tasked with remodelling the space and injecting energy back into the tired reception and suite of meeting rooms.
A visit to the now completed offices unveils a stunning reception leading to central walkway with meeting spaces on either side.
The new layout takes a clear path through the heart of Hat Trick’s editing and post production suites, through the centrally located kitchen and breakout zone and then into the main office area. Lisa comments: “for anyone visiting Hat Trick and walking through the building it’s a journey that unfolds as you walk deeper into the space – in particular the large Flexi space with writable folding walls where the client will hold test scripts and run-throughs of shows”.
